Ecotherapy takes therapy outdoors and into nature.

When we can take ourselves out into nature, and place our dis-regulated nervous systems in a regulated environment - ease, safety, and support is amplified and the natural world becomes a supportive extention of our work together.

 

Our physical environment can aid in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of mental health challenges, and more specifically, our exposure to natural environments can have many added benefits. Green space is linked to lower stress levels, less anxiety, fewer depression symptoms, increased relaxation, increased clarity, and supported regulation of the mind, body and spirit. When you spend time in a natural environment, you’re more likely to use your senses to experience your surroundings. Calming sounds, like birds chirping or the rustling of leaves, can help you detach from traffic, work conflict, and ordinary stressors of everyday life and allow us to move more deeply into our work together.

Time in nature heals, soothes, restores and improves our nervous system, health and

well-being.

Eco-therapy and time in nature are evidence-based, clinical treatment for stress, depression, anxiety, PTSD and grief. In Canada, patients are even being offered free passes to National Parks when prescribed by their primary care physician.

Local Walk & Talk

IN PERSON (WINNIPEG, MB)

Join me for a gentle, stroller friendly walk through the Park. We will meet at the park entrance or parking lot and walk and talk while experiencing the powerful therapeutic benefits of bringing counselling outdoors. These walks are gentle, mainly flat, and accessible to beginners.  Option to sit in green space and talk as well.

Distance Walk & Talk

Interested in trying a Walk and Talk but don’t live locally?

We’ve got you covered. Our Distance Walk and Talk option allows you choose the location that works for you - your favourite trail, neighbourhood, or even your own backyard!

We will ‘meet’ you on the phone and walk and talk together… but physically apart. Experience all of  the therapeutic benefits of movement and counselling rolled into a flexible model that needs your needs.
